Question 553011: I need some help with some homework problems. Here they are:
1.How many 12-person juries can be formed from 15 possible candidates?
2.How many different student body governments are possible if there are 4 seniors, 5 juniors, and 3 sophomores running for the student body offices of senior class president, junior class president, and sophomore class president?
3. Find the probability of selecting a green marble from a jar that contains 4 blue marbles, 3 red marbles, and 5 green marbles.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1.How many 12-person juries can be formed from 15 possible candidates?
Ans: 15C12 = 15C3 = (15*14*13)/(1*2*3) = 455
=======================================================
2.How many different student body governments are possible if there are 4 seniors, 5 juniors, and 3 sophomores running for the student body offices of senior class president, junior class president, and sophomore class president?
Ans: 4*5*3 = 60
=======================================================

3. Find the probability of selecting a green marble from a jar that contains 4 blue marbles, 3 red marbles, and 5 green marbles.
Ans: 5/12
=======================================================
4. Evaluate 8P5
Ans: 8P5 = 8!/(8-5)! = 8*7*6*5*4 = 6720
