You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let +L+ = length
Let +W+ = width
given:
Perimeter = +50+ m
(1) +L+=+2W+%2B+1+ m
----------------
The formula for perimeter is
(2) +P+=+2W+%2B+2L+
Substitute (1) into (2)
(2) +50+=+2W+%2B+2%2A%28+2W+%2B+1+%29+
(2) +50+=+2W+%2B+4W+%2B+2+
(2) +6W+=+48+
(2) +W+=+8+ m
and, since
(1) +L+=+2W+%2B+1+
(1) +L+=+2%2A8+%2B+1+
(1) +L+=+17+ m
The dimensions are 8 x 17 m2
check:
+P+=+2%2A8+%2B+2%2A17+
+P+=+16+%2B+34+
+P+=+50+ m
