You can put this solution on YOUR website! Help please I need to know how to factor this problem x^5-4x^3-8x^2+32
ans:
x^5-4x^3-8x^2+32=x^3(x^2-4)-8(x^2-4)=(x^3-8)(x^2-4)
=(x-2)(x^2+2x+4)(x-2)(x+2) [ since a^3-b^3=(a-b)(a^2+ab+b^2) and
(a^2-b^2)=(a+b)(a-b)]
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First factor by grouping:
The 1st set of parenthesis is the difference of cubes x^3=(x)^3 and 8=(2)^3 the formula for that is (a=x and b=2) and the second is the difference of squares x^2=(x)^2 and 4=(2)^2 the formula for that is: (a=x and b=2)
Happy Calculating!!!
