Question 550397: Factor by grouping, if possible, and check
8a3 − 2a2 + 12a − 3
(8a^3 - 2a^2) + (12a - 3)
2a^2(4a - 1) + 3(4a - 1)
(2a^2 + 3) + (4a - 1)
The instructor says this is wrong, but I don't understand why. All I was told is to check the last line. Help plz!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Factor by grouping, if possible, and check
8a3 − 2a2 + 12a − 3
(8a^3 - 2a^2) + (12a - 3)
2a^2(4a - 1) + 3(4a - 1)
Factor out the (4a-1) to get:
-------
(4a - 1)(2a^2+3)
