You can put this solution on YOUR website! One pipe can fill a tank in 30 mins but a second pipe can fill it in 25 mins. How long will it take if both pipes are used?
.
Let x = time (mins) it takes for both
then
x(1/30 + 1/25) = 1
multiplying both sides by (30)(25):
x(25 + 30) = (30)(25)
x(55) = 750
x = 750/55
x = 13.6 minutes
