Question 55011: This problem isn't in the book
(4y+2)(1/6)y
Well I know you have to multiply 1/6 by 6 to cancel in out, but then what other side are you multipling it too as in... are you multiplying it to 4y+2 making it 24y+12 or are you doing it to the y making it 6y or are you doing both of them?
24y+12=12y
24y-24+12=12y
12=-12y
y=-1
I have no clue if that's right or not. Algebra is so cunfusing. Thanks for your help though Answer by rchill(405) (Show Source):
