 Here is your reply:
 "Thank you for the hint.  I had already used the grouping method and I got
 x^2(2x+3)-5(x+3) = 0 and I did not know where to go from there.  If that 2x wasn't there then I could have grouped (x+3)."
 You did very well.
 Here is the factored form:
 (x^2 - 5)(2x + 3)(x + 3) = THREE FACTORS = 0.
 
 Now set each factor to equal zero and solve for x individually.
