Question 549603: I am not even sure whether this is a geometry or a miscellaneous word problem. I believe that I should use the e function but do not know the order of operations.
There is a population of 6000 that got a disease. An hour later there were 6200. How long would it take to reach 10,000? (need approximate and exact values)... Any help would be appreciated...

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You should be familiar with the order of operations before doing these problems.

The population can be modeled by an exponential function

where k is some constant and t is in hours. You know that P(1) = 6200. So solve for k, then find the t such that P(t) = 10000.

By the way, why is the population increasing exponentially when there is a disease?
