Question 547874: given x=-1,0,1,2,3 and F(x)=3,6,12,18,30 determine if this is an exponential function and identitfy the value of base a..Hint look at the ratio of consecutive values
I can get base a on my calculator but I am not sure how to perform the ratio of consecutive values

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
given
x = -1,0,1,2,3
F(x)=3,6,12,18,30
determine if this is an exponential function and identitfy the value of base a..Hint look at the ratio of consecutive values
6/3 = 2
12/6 = 2
18/12 = 1.5
30/18 = 0.6
----
Not an exponential function because there is no common ratio.

I can get base a on my calculator but I am not sure how to perform the ratio of consecutive values.
You are probably running a regression program on your calculator.
You are getting an approximation: not a true exponential function
for the data.
