You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Convert the following to polar form, answer in degrees
(i): 4 - j2.4
a=4 , b=-2.4
r=sqrt(4^2+2.4^2)
r=sqrt(21.76)=4.665
theta=arctan(-2.4/4)=-30.97 degrees
4-j2.4= (4.665)(cos(-30.97)+jsin(-30.97))
---------
(ii): -5.1 + j1.7
a=-5.1 ; b=1.7
r=sqrt[(5.1)^2+(1.7)^2]=5.376
theta=arctan(1.7/(-5.1))=-18.435 degrees
-5.1 + j1.7 = 5.376(cos(-18.435)+jsin(-18.435))
