You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A chemist has 1000 g of a solution that is 40% acid. How many grams of water must be added to redue the acididty to 25%
------
Equation:
water + water = water
0.60*1000 + x = 0.75(1000+x)
------
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
60*1000 + 100x = 75*1000 + 75x
25x = 15*1000
x = (3/5)1000
x = 600 grams (amt. of water to add)
