You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Fund A 5.00% per annum ---x
Fund B 6.00% per annum ---y

x+y=5000 ------------------------1
5.00% x + 6.00% y= = $280.00
Multiply by 100
5x+6y= $28,000.00 --------2

Multiply (1) by -5
we get

-5x-5y= -25000.00

Add this to (2)

y =$3,000.00 investment at 6.00%
Balance $2,000.00 investment at 5.00%
CHECK
$2,000.00 --------- 5.00% ------- $100.00
$3,000.00 ------- 6.00% ------- $180.00
Total -------------- $280.00
