Question 545741: write the equation in slope intercept form
2x-3y-6=0

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

To write any LINEAR equation in slope-intercept form,

you need only to solve for y!

2x-3y=6 given

2x=3y%2B6 added 3y to both sides

2x-6=3y subtracted 6 from both sides

2x%2F3-2=y divided both sides by 3

y=2x%2F3-2 which is what we need

It is now in the slope-intercept form y=mx%2Bb

So from our new equation, we know:

slope is m which equals 2/3

y-intercept is b which is -2, or the point (0,-2)

I hope this helps! :)
