write the exponent equiv of logs
5%5Ex+=+sqrt%28125%29
Square both sides
5%5E%282x%29+=+125
using common logs
log%28%285%5E%282x%29%29%29+=+log%28%28125%29%29
which is
2x * log(5) = log(125)
2x = log%28125%29%2Flog%285%29
use a calc
2x = 3
x = 1.5
