A print is 10 cm longer than it is wide. It is mounted in a frame 1.5 cm wide. The area of the frame is 399 cm^2. Find the dimensions of the print.
Please help!!!!

the dimensions of the frame are (w + 3) and (w + 13); the product of these is the area of the frame plus the print

the dimensions of the print are (w) and (w + 10)

the difference of the areas is 399

[(w + 3)(w + 13)] - [(w)(w + 10)] = 399 ___ it's not a quadratic because the w^2 terms subtract
