I would just transform the mixed numbers into improper fractions:
%283%261%2F2%29=3%2B1%2F2=6%2F2%2B1%2F2=7%2F2
%283%261%2F3%29=3%2B1%2F3=9%2F3%2B1%2F3=10%2F3
I would not be able to multiply those numbers any other way.
