Question 543678: Assignment 2: ANOVA Summary Table
A psychologist believes that the kind of feedback a person receives about their work affects the quality of the work. You randomly assign 12 widget makers to one of three groups: positive feedback only, corrective feedback only, and no feedback. You track the number of widgets that each person makes correctly (out of 10) and obtain the following data:
Positive Feedback Only, Corrective Feedback Only, No Feedback
5 4 5
4 5 4
4 3 6
7 6 2
Use an analysis of variance (α = 0.05) to determine whether this data is sufficient to conclude that there are significant differences between feedback conditions.
Make sure you include a complete ANOVA summary table. Also, report the appropriate null and research hypotheses and the critical value (alpha = 0.05). In addition, provide your statistical conclusion, including calculation of test statistic, in the APA format and conceptual conclusion in one to two sentences.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5 4 5
4 5 4
4 3 6
7 6 2
Use an analysis of variance (alpha = 0.05) to determine whether this data is sufficient to conclude that there are significant differences between feedback conditions.
----
Ho: The means are the same
Ha: At least one mean is different
---
I ran an ANOVA program on a TI-84 and got the following:
F = 0.2658
p-value = 0.7724
Factor:
df = 2
SS = 1.66667
MS = 0.58333
Error:
df = 9
SS = 19.75
MS = 2.19444
Sxp = 1.4814
===================
Conclusion:
Since the p value is greater than 5%, fail to reject Ho.
----
Feedback does not effect wickets production.
