Question 54176: Over what interval is the following piecewise function increasing?
{-1-x for x<-2
f(x) {3x+7 for -2less than/equal to x less than/equal to -1
{ 1 for x > -1

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Over what interval is the following piecewise function increasing?
1st Part:{-1-x for x<-2
The slope is -1 so it's not increasing.
-----------
2nd Part: f(x) {3x+7 for -2less than/equal to x less than/equal to -1
The slope is 3 so it is increasing on the closed interval [-2,-1]
-----------------
3rd Part: { 1 for x > -1
The slope is zero so it's not increasing.
