Question 541675: How to solve systems using any substitution method by showing the work along with the answer?
1. 2x + y =-6
x - 2y= 7
2. 3x - 2y=9
4x + y =-10
3. 2x + y = 10
3x +2y = 14
4. -9x+4y = -1
6x+2y = 2

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x + y =-6
x - 2y= 7
x= 2y+7
substitute x in 2x+y=6
2(2y+7)+y=-6
4y+14+y=-6
5y=-14-6
5y=-20
/5
y=-20/5
y=-4
plug y in any equation.
Lets take 2x+y=6
y=-4
2x+(-4)=-6
2x= 4-6
2x=-2
/2
x=-1
All the others have to be solved in the same way.
