If the ratio of the sides of two cubes is 3:1, what is the ratio of their volumes?
:
Let the side of the 1st cube be x: the volume would be x^3, right?
:
Let the side of the 2nd cube be 3x: the volume would be (3x)^3
:
Which is 27x^3: The ratio of x^3/(27x^3) is 1:27
