Question 540751: Solve this inequality. Please show all work
(2x-9)/(5x+13)<0
This is what I've gotten so far
2x/5x+13 - 9/5x+13 <0
2x/5x+13 < 9/5x+13
2x<9
x<9/2
I know that there is another part to the problem but not sure how to get there.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I can solve it logically
Either the top or bottom must be negative,
but not both, so
If +x+%3C+9%2F2+ AND +x+%3E+13%2F5+, then I
have (-)/(+), which is <0
--------------------
If +x+%3C+13%2F5+ AND +x+%3E+9%2F2+
I have (+)/(-), which is <0
--------------------
Both these conditions are impossible,
so I don't think there is a solution.
I would get a 2nd opinion, though

2.6 < x < 4.5 works
