Expand what's in the [] first to get 6[x-2x-3]=8-5x. Combine like terms to get 6[-x-3]=8-5x. Now expand the left side to get -6x-18=8-5x. Add 6x to both sides to get -18=8+x. Now subtract 8 from both sides to get x=-26.
