Question 536642: Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line through the given point with the given slope.
#17a. (4,-7);m=1/4
#17b. (5,6);m=3
#18a. (2,8);m=-3
#18b. (8,4);m=1/2 Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source):
Plug value of the slope and point (4 ,-7 ) in
Y = m x + b
-7.00 = 4*1/4 + b
b= -7 - 1
b= -8
So the equation will be
Y = 1/4 x -8
-------
m= 3
Plug value of the slope and point ( 5 , 6 ) in
Y = m x + b
6.00 = 5*3 + b
b= 6 - 15
b= -9
So the equation will be
Y = 3 x -9
you follow the same steps for the others
