You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
1/(3/4) = x/(1+3/4)
1/(3/4) = x/(7/4)
1*(7/4) = (3/4)x
7/4 = (3/4)x
7 = 3x
7/3 = x
x = 7/3
So 7/3 of a mile, or 2 1/3 of a mile, is represented by 1 3/4 inches
