There are special polynomial factors you should know. This is one of them. Google "special polynomial factors".


a%5E2-b%5E2=%28a%2Bb%29%28a-b%29


The numerator is m%5E2-2%5E2=%28m%2B2%29%28m-2%29


So this problem is %28m%2B2%29%28m-2%29%2F%28m%2B2%29=m-2%29 since the (m+2) factors cancel.
