You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The original price was 46.50 and there was a discount which reduced the price to 37.20.
37.20 divided by 46.50 is .8, so therefore the discount was 8%. To check, multiply 46.50 by 8%, and you will get 37.20.

The original price of a pair of jeans was $46.50. The jeans were on sale for $37.20. What was the discount rate?

Since jeans were on sale for $37.20, down from $46.50, then the discount was $9.30 (46.50 - 37.20)

Discount rate = 9.3%2F46.5, or highlight_green%2820%29%
