You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The four numbers are w, x, y, and z.
.
w+x+y+z = 579
w+x+y-z = -57
------------------ add
2w +2x + 2y = 522
so
w + x + y = 261
.
w+49 = x (given)
so
w = x-49
.
x+91 = y (given)
so
x = y-91
.
Substitute
.
(x-49) +x + (x+91) = 261
3x + 42 = 261
3x = 219
x = 73
.
w = x-49
w = 73-49
w = 24
.
y = x+91
y = 73+91
y = 164
.
w+x+y+z = 579
261 + z = 579
z = 579 - 261
z = 318
.
Check
318-57 = 261
Correct.
.
Answer: The numbers from lowest to highest are: 24, 73, 164, and 318.
