You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=sqrt%28x%29 and y=-sqrt%28x%29
Look the same only y=-sqrt%28x%29 is upside down.
Plot a few points:
In y=sqrt%28x%29
y=sqrt%280%29=0 Plot(0,0)
y=sqrt%284%29=2 Plot(4,2)
y=sqrt%289%29=3 Plot(9,3)
Connect the dots and you have a graph:
graph%28300%2C200%2C-10%2C10%2C-10%2C10%2Csqrt%28x%29%29
In y=-sqrt%28x%29
y=-sqrt%280%29=0 Plot(0,0)
y=-sqrt%284%29=-2 Plot(4,-2)
y=-sqrt%289%29=-3 Plot(9,-3)
Connect the dots and you have a graph:
graph%28300%2C200%2C-10%2C10%2C-10%2C10%2C-sqrt%28x%29%29
Together you have:
graph%28300%2C200%2C-10%2C10%2C-10%2C10%2Csqrt%28x%29%2C-sqrt%28x%29%29
That happens with all functions.
y=-x%5E2 looks like y=x%5E2 See:
graph%28300%2C200%2C-10%2C10%2C-10%2C10%2Cx%5E2%2C-x%5E2%29
Happy Calculating!!!
