Question 53358This question is from textbook University of phoenix elementary and intermediate algebra
: The percentage of workers receiving direct deposit of their paychecks went from 32% in 1994 to 60% in 2004. Let the 1994be year 0 and let 2004 be year 10.
a. Write the equation of the line through (0,32) ands (10,60) to model the growth of the direct deposit.
b. Use the graph on the next page to predict the year in which 100% of all workers will receive direct deposit of their paychecks.
c. Use the equation from part (a) to predict the year in which 100% of all workers will receive direct deposit.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! a. Write the equation of the line through (0,32) ands (10,60) to model the growth of the direct deposit.
Need "m" and "b" of Percent = m(year)+b
m=[60-32]/[10-0]=14/5
b=32 because of the point (0,32)
EQUATION: y=(14/5)x+32
-----------------
b. Use the graph on the next page to predict the year in which 100% of all workers will receive direct deposit of their paychecks.
100 = (14/5)(year)+32
68=(14/5)(year)
year=24.28; round down to 24
The year will be 1994+24 or 2018
