You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I assume you only have the final exam remaining. So, what do you need to score to have an overall percentage of at least 90%?
.
With the weighting, it is clear the scoring is mean to achieve a maximum total of 100% for the course. At this point, you have finished the quizzes and exercises.
quizzes: .4 * .85 = .34
exercises: .3 * .92 = .276
.
So you need a percentage score 'x' on the final exam such that:
.
.3x + .34 + .276 >= .90
.
Solving the equation...
.
.3x = .90 -.34 - .276
.3x = .284
x = .284/.3
x = .9466666666666668
x >= 94.7% is needed to achieve an overall average of 90% or more.
.
That could mean you need to score at least a 95% on the final exam, depending on how fine the grading can be. (For example, can you earn a 94.7%?)
.
Check.
.4*.85 + .3*.92 + .3*.947 = .9001
.
Answer: You need to score 94.7% or higher on the final exam.
.
Done.
