A pulley of radius 12 cm turns at 7 rps. What is the linear velocity of the belt driving the pulley in meters per second?
-----------------
r = 12 cm = 0.12 meters
Circum = 2*pi*r = 0.24pi meters
vel = 0.24pi*7 = 1.68pi m/sec

A pulley of radius 12 cm turns at 7 rps. What is the linear velocity of the belt driving the pulley in meters per second?
**
circumference of pulley=2πr=2π12=24π cm
at 7rps, linear velocity=7*24π cm/s
or 7*24π cm/s*(m/100cm)=1.68π m/s
ans:
linear velocity of the belt driving the pulley=1.68π m/s
