Even integers increase by two each time

x = 1st even integer
x + 2 = 2nd even integer
x + 4 = 3rd even integer
x + 6 = 4th even integer
x + 8 = 5th even integer

x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8 {added all even integers}
= 5x + 20 {combined like terms}
