You can put this solution on YOUR website! This may seem obvious to say it, but before you can figure out what is the next term in a series, you have to figure out what the terms have in common. In this case, when you look at the denominator, you see that 5, 4, 10, and 20 are all factors of 20. Therefore, if we convert all the fractions to the lowest common denominator: 20, we immediately see the pattern and can figure out the next term:

1/5 = 4/20
1/4 = 5/20
3/10 = 6/20
7/20 = 7/20
...
Clearly, the next term is 8/20
...
However, since in this series, all terms are simplified,
8/20 = 4/10 = 2/5
...
The answer to the question is 2/5
...
