You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Larger number:x
Smaller number:x-11
Problem:
10 times the smaller number-3 times the larger number is 30
10(x-11)-3x=30
10x-110-3x=30
(10-3)x-110=30
7x-110=30
7x-110+110=30+110
7x=140
7x/7=140/7
x=20
Larger number:x=20
Smaller number:x-11=20-11=9
----------------------------------
Check:
10 times the smaller number-3 times the larger number is 30
10(9)-3(20)=30
90-60=30
Our answer is reasonable!
