x = number of days since May 2, where x = 0 is May 2, x = 1 is May 3, x = 2 is May 4, etc.
74 is the base temperature on May 2

y = 1/3*x + 74
.
To predict when the temperature will be 90, substitute y = 90 and solve for 'x'.

90 = 1/3*x + 74
16 = 1/3*x
x = 48
.
48 days after May 2 the predicted temperature will be 90. That would be June 19.
