You can put this solution on YOUR website!

a) Multiply both sides by in order to get rid of the denominator on and set you up to have a positive sign on coefficient once the term is moved to the LHS). Then add to both sides to put the term in the LHS. Now you have standard form which is . The positive sign on the -coefficient is not strictly necessary for Standard Form -- the only restriction is for the coefficents to be integers -- but I do it for neatness sake.

b) Pick a value for . It can be anything you like but a small integer divisible by the coefficient on will make the arithmetic easier and will give you a nice neat integer result. Substitute this value for and then solve the resulting single-variable equation for .

Create an ordered pair using the selected value of and the calculated value of .
