Question 528285: Thanks for your guys help! Here is the problem: Sin of theta= 0.23 for 0 degrees is less than or equal to theta less than or equal to 360 degrees. Give answer to nearest degree!
sine is positive in Quadrants I and IV. Enter 0.23 into your calculator and take the inverse sin to get the QI result. Subtract the QI result from 360 to get the QIV result. Round both to the nearest degree.

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
sin() = 0.23
There are two quadrants in which the sine is positive,
I and II. The other tutor said quadrant 4, which is wrong.
You can use a calculator to find the solution in the
first quadrant between 0° and 90° which is
13.29707175°. That's the reference angle and also
the solution in the first quadrant.
To find the angle in the second quadrant which is
between 90° and 180° you subtract
the reference angle from 180°, or
180° - 13.29707175° = 166.7029283°
Rounding those off to the nearest degree the answers
are:
13° and 167°.
