Question 52809: I need help with the following questions.
A woman jogging at 6 mi/h passes a man biking in the opposite direction at 12 mi/h. If they maintain their speeds, how far from each other will they be 10 minutes after passing?
DO I need to multiple each by 10 and then add them together. For example they will be 180 miles apart?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Almost!!! I almost said you were right. But as you probably thought, "180 miles is a lot of mile to cover by jogging and biking in ten minutes!"
Here's what you're missing:
You have to convert t=10min into hours
t=%2810min%2F1%29%2A%281hr%2F60min%29
t=1/6 hr
d=rt
Woman's distance:6(1/6)=1 miles
Man's distance:12(1/6)=2 miles
Total distance between them:
d=1+2
d=3 miles
