DO I need to multiple each by 10 and then add them together. For example they will be 180 miles apart? Answer by funmath(2933) (Show Source):

Here's what you're missing:
You have to convert t=10min into hours
t=1/6 hr
d=rt
Woman's distance:6(1/6)=1 miles
Man's distance:12(1/6)=2 miles
Total distance between them:
d=1+2
d=3 miles
