You can put this solution on YOUR website! Yes, but simplify the expression to make your life easier. You can simplify this by subtracting x from both sides. Then you have 4y = 8x. Now, y = x would be a straight line, angled at 45 deg, starting at 0, 0 and, passing through an point like 1, 1; 2, 2; 12, 12...etc.

We could further simplify 4y = 8x by dividing both sides by 4. Therefore, we'd have:

y = 2x
...
That looks a lot like y = x that we already decided is a straight line. The expression we have in this problem, y = 2x would like similar, but be steeper line passing through the points: 0, 0; 2, 1; 4, 2; 8, 4; etc.
