You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Quarters = x
Dimes = x
Nickels=x+1
Total Amount = $0.85 = 85 cents
25x+10x+5(x+1)=85
25x+10x+5x+5=85
25x+10x+5x=85-5
40x=80
40x/40=80/40
x=2

Quarters = x = 2
Dimes = x = 2
Nickels=x+1 = 2+1 = 3
2 Quarters = 2*25 = 50
2 Dimes = 10*2 = 20
3 Nickels = 5*3 = 15
Sum = 50+20+15=85 cents or $0.85
