You can put this solution on YOUR website! let plane speed be x mph
wind speed be y mph
1000miles in 4 hours with head wind
=250 mph
x-y = 250
return trip 3 hours 20 minutes=> 3 1/3 hours =>10/3 hours
1000/(10/3)
1000*3/10
=300
x+y= 300
add the two equations
2x=550
x= 225 mph plane speed
wind speed = 25 mph (x+y=250)
