Let b = number of boys
given:

+%281%2F3%29%2Ab+ play soccer
+100+ girls do not play soccer

Therefore 1/3 of the girls do not play soccer
+%281%2F3%29%2Ag+=+100+
+g+=+300+
and, since

+b+%2B+300+=+500+
+b+=+200+
There are 200 boys in the school
