You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
16x-12y=44
/4
4x-3y=11
3y=4x-11
multiply by 2
6y=8x-22
substitute 6y in equation
LCD = 4(14x-8)(8x-36)
Add like terms
112x^2-528x+400=0
/16
7x^2-34x+25=0
Find the roots of the equation by quadratic formula
a= 7 ,b= -34 ,c= 25
b^2-4ac= 1156 + -700
b^2-4ac= 456
x1=( 34 + 21.35 )/ 14
x1= 3.95
x2=( 34 -21.35 ) / 14
x2= 0.9
3y=4x-11
plug x=3.95
3y=4*3.95-11
y=(4*3.95-11)/3
y=1.6
(3.95,1.6)
---
3y=4x-11
plug x=0.9
3y=4*0.9-11
y=(4*0.9-11)/3
y=-2.46
(0.9,-2.46)
