d = 60 mph * t
.
The second car:
d = 80 mph * (t-1/2)
.
At the point the faster car overtakes the slower car, they will have traveled the same distance.
So, d=d.

60t = 80(t-1/2)
60t = 80t - 80/2
-20t = -40
t = 2

In 2 hr the faster car will overtake the slower car.
The faster car will have traveled for 1 1/2 hr = 3/2 hr.
