Question 522392: Find the area of a rectangle whose length is 6 inches less than 5 times the width and whose perimeter is 8 inches more than twice the length. Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
The perimeter of a rectangle is twice the length plus twice the width. So if the perimeter is twice the length plus 8, twice the width has to be 8. Width = 4 and you can calculate the length for yourself.
