You can put this solution on YOUR website! on a line segment ALSK, lets call distance A to L - D, same distance in L to K - D. lets call distance L-S as X.
now, distance from A to S is AL+LS = D+X; distance from L to K is LS+SK = X+D;
so AS = D+X = X+D = LK.
