You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-y=3
x+y=5
you will sum the equations to delet one letter
x-y=3
+
x+y=5
-----
2x+0y=8
2x=8
x=8/2
x=4
substitute to find y
x+y=5
4+y=5
y=5-4
y=1
or
x-y=3
4-y=3
4-3=4
1=y
Answer: x=4 and y=1
