You can put this solution on YOUR website! The length of a rectangle is 7 meters longer than its width. What is the width of this rectangle if its perimeter is equal to 86 meters?
width =w
length = w+7
perimeter = 2(L+W)
perimeter = 2(w+w+7)=86
2(2w+7)=86
/2
2w+7=43
2w=43-7
2w=36
/2
w=18
...
18+18+25+25=86

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The length of a rectangle is 7 meters longer than its width. What is the width of this rectangle if its perimeter is equal to 86 meters?
----
Let width be "W"
Then length is "W+7"
----
Perimeter = 2(length + width)
86 = 2(W+7 + W)
43 = 2W+7
2W = 36
Width = 18 meters
----
Solve for length:
length = W +7 = 25 meters
