Question 519333: Hi. Is there any trick to doing proofs or do you just have to memorize the different postualtes and theorems. I have a test on them on monday and I am confused. Also, how do you know which step you are supposed to write next.

The method of proving something really depends on the question and what it's asking you to prove. Some proofs will be very straightforward and require only one theorem; others might be much trickier and require theorems from other areas of mathematics. You'll have to know the postulates and theorems, but proving something usually requires more than that.

Also, for which steps you're supposed to write next, I can't say much about that except that you should write your steps logically and in order.
